Tradition here is mostly geometry. A 35–45 degree pitch gives the lantern its classic height and presence; a generous internal pelmet carries downlights and curtains of light around the opening; cream, white and heritage greens replace anthracite. In aluminium we add ovolo-look cappings and optional ridge finials and crestings; in timber the detailing is carved into the joinery itself. These lanterns suit Victorian and Edwardian villas, rectories, orangeries and any extension where the brief says sympathetic rather than statement.
