Aluminium is the material that made the modern roof lantern possible. Its strength-to-weight ratio carries large glass spans on remarkably thin ridge and hip bars, so you see sky rather than frame.

Our aluminium lanterns are thermally broken, polyester powder-coated and built for a service life measured in decades — supply-only with delivery anywhere in the UK, or installed by our own teams.
The frames use a multi-chambered aluminium profile with a polyamide thermal break, stopping the cold-bridging that plagued older metal rooflights. Powder coating is marine-grade as standard, so coastal properties don't need a special order, and any RAL colour is available alongside the stocked anthracite, black and white. Aluminium also keeps long-term maintenance to a wash-down — no repainting, no swelling, no UV chalking. For spans beyond 2.5m we specify reinforced ridge sections rather than adding visible rafters wherever possible.
Standard sizes below — made to measure quoted same day. Installation available nationwide if you’d rather we fit it.

Strength. Aluminium carries the same glass on much slimmer bars, so the lantern looks lighter and lets more daylight through. It also holds its colour and shape for decades, where uPVC profiles are bulkier and can discolour.
Not when thermally broken. The polyamide barrier separates the cold external aluminium from the warm internal face, keeping the inside surface above dew point in normal conditions. Good room ventilation does the rest.
Yes — dual-colour powder coating is a standard option. Anthracite outside with white inside is the most popular combination, keeping the exterior contemporary while the interior stays bright.
Yes. Our powder coat is marine-grade as standard, and aluminium itself doesn't rust. For exposed shoreline plots we can also upgrade fixings and glazing to suit the wind loading.
Far bigger than most rooms need — spans over 3m wide and 6m long are achievable with reinforced ridge sections. Past a certain size we'd recommend twin lanterns instead, purely for proportion.
